Our magarita tasting was a huge success!  Thank you to the hundred plus people who came by to see our new tasting room and learn how to make fabulous magarita's while enjoying home-made salsa's and other food compliments.  So many of you requested how to make Laura's Empanadas recepie that we are posting here for your pleasure:

Empanadas
 

1-1¼lbs Ground beef

2-4 packets Goya Sazón (Con Culantro y Achiote)

Goya Adobo All Purpose Seasoning

Chili powder (optional)

1-8oz can Goya tomato sauce

1-8oz jar Spanish green olives

1-12oz jar Goya Sofrito (Tomato cooking base)

1-12oz jar Goya Recaito (Cilantro cooking base)

2-3pk’s Goya Empanadas (orange) – defrosted

Vegetable oil

 
  1. Rinse and chop olives.
 
  1. Brown ground beef in skillet and strain, set aside.
 
  1. In separate skillet cook Sofrito, Recaito, tomato sauce and olives, while

simmering add 2 to 4 packets of Sazón, adjust to taste, then sprinkle mixture with Adobo and chili powder.  Heat until just simmering then add browned ground beef to tomato mixture. Adjust seasonings one more time and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.  Once done remove from heat and let cool.

 
  1. When cool, scoop a tablespoon of mixture into each empanada and fold empanada

in half.  Pinch sides closed and press a fork along side to seal and create a decorative edge.

 

5.  When all the mixture is used, pour oil in skillet (about ½ inch deep), heat until just hot, place a few empanadas in skillet at a time.  Cook for 1 minute and turn, cook for another minute on other side.  Keep turning until slightly brown, then remove and strain on paper towel. Serve and enjoy!

  
 


We proudly host a complimentary craft brew tasting every FRIDAY evening between the hours of 6:00 pm -to- 8:00pm.  We usually sample 6-to-8 ales at each tasting.  Matt Gamble & Justin Gulliano, our in-house tasters and cooks, pair each bottle with an exceptional food dish that not only enhances the experience, but will bring out the full flavor of the ale.

Every SATURDAY between the hours of 4:00pm -to- 7:00 pm we offer a complimentary wine & spirit tasting with our wine expert, Laura Dawson.  Laura usually samples 4-6 wines and compliments each with an appropriate sampling of food that also brings out the full flavor and aroma of each varietal.

As always, ALL of our tastings are complimentary.
